Ownership of .de TLD transferred to DENIC

DigiNøltar confirms that ownership and operational responsibility for the .de top-level domain has been transferred to DENIC following direct coordination between both parties.

The transfer concludes a brief period during which .de was provisionally offered within the DigiNøltar registry due to observed absence of authoritative responses from the de. zone.

Background

Initial registry analysis conducted by DigiNøltar infrastructure systems indicated that the de. zone did not respond to standard DNS query procedures.

In accordance with established provisioning rules for unresponsive namespaces, the .de TLD was temporarily made available through the DigiNøltar service portal:

This action was executed under the assumption that the namespace was not actively maintained within observable operational parameters.

External Coordination

Following publication of availability, DENIC contacted DigiNøltar to clarify stewardship of the .de namespace and requested formal transfer of registry recognition and operational responsibility.

The request was processed through standard inter-registry coordination channels.

DigiNøltar has since:

• Withdrawn .de from its active TLD catalogue
• Updated internal registry state to reflect external stewardship
• Completed transfer acknowledgement without incident

Outlook

DigiNøltar welcomes continued coordination with external registry operators in cases where namespace status may be misinterpreted due to transient or non-standard response characteristics.
